How to Reduce a Photo or Signature to 50 KB or 20 KB (Free)
Updated
Many forms ask for a photo of at most 50 KB and a signature of at most 20 KB. A phone photo is usually 2 to 5 MB, so it must be shrunk before it will upload.
Steps
- Open Compress Image to 50 KB (or 20 KB for a signature) and choose your picture.
- Press Compress. The tool finds the best JPG quality that stays under the limit and only shrinks the dimensions if it has to.
- Download the JPG and upload it to the form.
Tips for a good signature
Sign in dark ink on plain white paper, photograph it in good light, and crop it tight around the signature. A plain background compresses far better than shadows and texture, so a signature fits 20 KB easily.
If the form needs exact dimensions too
Some forms also ask for exact pixel dimensions. Set them first with the Image Resizer, then compress here to hit the file size.
